Sabine Seufert

Prof. Dr. Sabine Seufert is Executive Director of the Swiss Centre for Innovations in Learning (SCIL) and Assistant Professor at the University of St. Gallen.

She studied business education at the University of Erlangen-Nuernberg, Germany and received her Ph.D. in business administration of the University of Muenster, Germany in 1996. During that time, she worked as a human resource manager with the Professional Service Firm Dres. Fürst & Partner GmbH, Nuremberg, Germany. For two years she worked as Higher Education Teacher in Business Administration and Computer Science at vocational schools in Bavaria and received her teaching diploma in 1997. From July 1997 to April 1999 she has worked as a co-founder and project manager for the Learning Center at the Institute for Information Management at the University of St. Gallen. During that time, she has conceptualized and implemented internet-based learning and knowledge sharing platforms for several Executive Study Programs as well as for the graduate CEMS Master (Community of European Management Schools). From May 1999 she has been working as Study Director of the fulltime Executive MBA in New Media and Communication - at the institute for media and communication management at the University of St. Gallen.

Her research focus lies in the area of E-Learning, collaborative learning, organizational learning and knowledge management. From September to December 2000 she stayed as Visiting Scholar at the Stanford Learning Lab to investigate elearning, in particular learning communities. In 2006 she finished her habilitation about "innovation-oriented Educational Management" and has been elected as Assistent Professor at the University of St.Gallen.
